At times all parents feel lost or unsure about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make more sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security Parenting program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened. Run by two Clinical Psychologists, this is a friendly, supportive group of parents with young children.

Aims of the program

  • Better understand your child’s emotional world by learning to read their emotional needs
  • Support your child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
  • Enhance the development of your child’s self esteem
  • Increase self-awareness for you as a parent and as a person

What have parents said about the group?

Circle of security helped me reframe in how I respond. My child is calmer and happier – and so am I

I’m able to think more and get more of a positive outcome. It’s more of a delight to be around each other. It is also reassuring that we are not expected to get it right all of the time

I felt respected as the only man there, it was a safe enough group as a guy. Everybody listened and nobody gave their opinions on how to do things, everyone shared how they struggled of some the issues they faced

It was nice how Nicky and Sara (previous clinician) brought snacks and gave us a hot drink, made it feel nice – it made it feel like a group and not school

I felt an active part of the group, we were engaged from the beginning from the way the clinicians ran it – they allowed us to run the group rather it being a lecture
