Sheena Bolland
Re-elected for a second term December 2024
ln this, my second Governor term. I will remain committed and conscientious, listening to and representing service users or staff.
My application to remain as a Governor, stems from many years as a student at the Tavistock and on-going interest in the organisation’s development. As a new Governor, l joined at a time when the Tavistock was going through some complex issues. This has been a challenging time, but I’ve always kept in mind the concerns of those I represented. I am also a Governor at Gloucester House, a role in which I’d like to continue. It would be my great pleasure to serve for a second term.
ln my professional career, I worked in the voluntary sector as well as the NHS, mainly in the field of mental health. This involved services to adults and then young people as a Clinician and senior manager. ln my first term, I have embedded my knowledge of the role of a Governor and the requirements. During this time, I observed a number of meetings in various departments in order to gain a greater understanding of the organisation. I have also experienced an amalgamation in the NHS.
As a senior manager in the NHS, I have been involved in developing strategies, policies, their implementation and impact on service users. I also have experience in budgeting and finance within the NHS. I have been a passionate advocate of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, developing Best Practise as an aspect of people management.
