Aruna Mehta

Aruna is our vice chair and was appointed as a non-executive director in November 2021. Her professional expertise is in technology and operations, organisational risk, auditing, compliance and governance. She has worked at executive director level with responsibility for global risk and control.

She has had a 25-year career in banking and finance, with responsibility for global risk and control, developing particular expertise in the implementation of governance, risk and compliance frameworks. She was Managing Director and Global Head of Operational Controls at JP Morgan and is a Senior Associate at The Value Circle, which provides governance, leadership and strategy development across a range of sectors.

Through a decade of experience as a non-executive director, Aruna has experience from a variety of different sectors including housing and education. Aruna is also the chair of Surrey and Borders NHS Partnership Trust.

Aruna was born in Sri Lanka and educated in India and the UK.
