Trust Health Psychologist recognised for her exceptional work on mental health and physical wellbeing
Dr Kate Hurst, Trainee Health Psychologist at the Tavistock and Portman Trust was featured in a recent edition of the Psychological Professions Network Newsletter, where she spoke about the amazing North Central London (NCL) work she has been involved in.
The article discusses Kate’s role in evaluating the NCL Waiting Room, which is the mental health and wellbeing platform designed to signpost young people, parents, carers and professionals to specialist mental health services, voluntary sector organisations and self-management resources.
Another area of work that Kate has been focused on is finding an effective way for the Trust to address the physical health needs of service users who are also being treated for their mental health. So far, her work has focused on the importance of physical activity and sleep.
This year, Kate will focus on using psychology, both on a 1:1 basis and in group settings, to support workforce change and transformation. This work will include utilising behaviour change which help to effectively create long-lasting change in behaviour.
