‘Look to the future’ – Tavistock and Portman Chief Executive on NHS birthday

The NHS should look forward to what it can achieve in the future, said Michael Holland, Chief Executive at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, on the National Health Service’s seventy-fifth birthday.

Staff at the Trust gathered for a coffee morning to mark 75 years of the Service.

Michael said: “We should be proud of everything we’ve achieved in the NHS. It hasn’t been an easy time for us in the Trust and wider NHS but let’s look forward to what we can achieve in the future. Thank you to everyone for what you’ve done.”

Staff were joined on video link by special guest, Isca Wittenberg, who turned 100 this year. Isca arrived in this country as a child refugee, fleeing Nazi Germany, and rose to become Vice-Chair of the Tavistock during the 25 years that she worked at the clinic.

Happy birthday to our NHS.
