Gloucester House rated Good overall in Ofsted inspection
Gloucester House, our Trust-run school has received an overall rating of Good from Ofsted, following its latest inspection from 1 to 3 July 2025.
The independent school is based in Camden, and admits up to 14 students, aged 5 to 14. Students join this school after difficulties in other settings and periods of being out of school.
The Ofsted report said that pupils are well supported by a team of staff made up of education and health professionals, who work collaboratively to meet students’ special education, emotional and mental health needs.
“Over the last year, the school has re-evaluated its curriculum and approach to pupils’ behaviour. It has set high expectations and pupils are rising to these,” said the report.
The report also notes that the school has brought about a significant shift in culture around student behaviour.
It said: “It has established high expectations that are consistent across the school, but mindful of each pupil’s needs. Over time, pupils learn to understand their emotions and the impact of their behaviour on others. Around the school, the atmosphere is generally calm. Pupils respond well to familiar staff. They are polite and courteous.”
The report praised significant improvements made over a short space of time. Areas identified for improvement include the need to fully embed the curriculum in practice across all subjects, and a high staff turnover.
