Council of Governors election results: December 2024
The Tavistock and Portman governor election results for 2024 are as follows:

Michael Arhin-Acquaah (re-elected unopposed for a 2nd term), Roswitha Dharampal (elected unopposed 1st term), Susie Lendrum (elected unopposed 1st term), Chidinma Uwakaneme (elected unopposed 1st term)

Pauline Williams who was elected unopposed for the 1st term said:
“As the Chair of the Race Equality Network, I have worked extensively to foster inclusivity, champion equality, and create a more supportive environment for both staff and patients. My experiences have equipped me with the skills and insight to advocate for all members of our Trust community, ensuring that diverse perspectives are not only represented but integrated into our governance and decision-making processes. I am committed to upholding and promoting our Trust’s values of excellence, inclusivity, compassion, and respect. In my role as Staff Governor, I will work closely with the Board to ensure that the voices of our staff are heard and that our values remain at the heart of everything we do. I believe that by strengthening our internal culture and fostering a supportive, equitable environment, we will continue to deliver outstanding care and support for our patients and one another”.

Our governors sit on a council of governors, which meets four times each year and plays an important part in the decision-making process of the Trust.
They lend their individual skills and knowledge at council level. Because they can be patients, students, national and local residents, this is particularly important as it means that the voice of the local community can be heard right at the top of the decision-making process.
