Art exhibition: Lucy Fisher & Polly Mortimer – Needle SharpArt
2 to 29 August
Tavistock Centre
Tavistock Centre
Sisters Lucy Fisher and Polly Mortimer present a joint exhibition of thread artworks in wool and cotton.
Lucy has a degree in Medieval Art History. She was a sub-editor of magazines ranging from PC Magazine to The Week. For the last about 20 years, she has been drawing, painting and sewing scenes based on photographs of the urban scene. She mainly works in stranded cotton on canvas.
Polly has been crafting since she was 5. Berlin wool work/needlepoint/gros point is her chosen medium. After a shaky time spent up against the blunt end of psychiatry, she trained as a librarian and now works as Library Manager for British Psychotherapy Foundation.
