Trust launches our anti-racist statement
27 September 2022
Following development of our Race Action Plan, our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion function, staff networks and Board ownership of this issue, we are pleased to launch the Tavistock and Portman anti-racist statement.

Our anti-racism statement builds on efforts the Trust has taken in recent years to become actively anti-racist and place race equality at the heart of all we do. The statement has been developed with our staff following our Race Equality Review conducted with the Colour Brave Avengers. The Race Equality Review provided an insight into the culture of the Trust and the lived experiences of our Black, Asian and other minoritised ethnic staff groups.
Our anti-racism statement sets out our commitment to becoming an anti-racist organisation. It acknowledges the difficulties faced by our Black, Asian and other minoritised ethnic groups within the Trust and outlines our commitment to learning and reflecting in order to identify actions and tackle structural racism and discrimination. We also set out our commitment to delivering a number of actions over the next 12 months and how we will hold ourselves accountable.
