– Autism
– Borderline Personality Disorder (EUPD)
– ADHD
- Autism: Our ASD diagnostic service is generally for 12- 18 years age group, though if a young person reaches 18 years of age whilst in treatment, they are able to continue their treatment with our service until they are 25 years old.
There were 329 young people awaiting autism assessment.
The average waiting time for Autism Assessment for young people in 2023/24 was 67.5 weeks
The trust provides talking therapies, also known as psychological therapies, for autistic children, young adults and their families and for those with developmental learning disabilities. However, this is a separate pathway from our autism assessment service and requires a separate referral.
Therefore patient records of all those assessed does not continue straight to post diagnostic support and we cannot therefore report a linear figure for all those assessed.
Should you wish to submit a new request, we would be happy to supply you with waiting time data for referral to patient being seen in a post-diagnostic pathway.
- Borderline Personality Disorder (EUPD): The Trust does not provide a dedicated service for Border Personality Disorder and Diagnoses, though we may sometimes diagnose this in a patient’s secondary and/or pre-existing condition. As part of a psychodynamic formulative assessment/treatment approach, rather than a prescriptive psychiatric diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder
- ADHD: we do not have a department which specialises in, or specifically treats, ADHD in children or adults.
- – PTSD/cPTSD: We do not assess nor record diagnosis of PTSD/cPTSD
- How often are diagnosis of autism, BPD (EUPD), ADHD, PTSD/cPTSD added to a patient’s medical record without formal assessment and diagnosis and/or without meeting with a clinician?
Not at all. Diagnosis of autism, BPD (EUPD), ADHD, PTSD/cPTSD conditions would NOT be entered onto a patient record without the patient seeing a clinician nor without formal assessment. Such diagnosis would only be added to a patient’s medical record following a full assessment.
