1. How many peer workers/peer mentors or similar roles does your Trust employ?

We currently have three peer workers employed in the Tavistock Trauma Service on a fixed term, part time basis.

2. How many senior peer worker/peer supervisor/peer development worker or similar roles does your Trust employ?

All our peer workers are employed as Band 4 members of staff. We don’t have any more senior peer worker roles at present.

3. What band(s) are your senior peer worker (or similarly titled) roles?

These are attached, and were advertised as Expert By Experience roles.

5. Who supervises the senior peer workers in your Trust

Peer workers are supervised by permanent members of staff within the service who are all qualified psychotherapists. The supervision of the peer work is also supervised by the Lead Clinician in the Trauma Service.

In 2022, we received funding for two former members of staff to attend Peer Support training funded by Health Education England.

The grant money enabled peer workers to access a specific peer support training at the beginning of their employment.
