  1. Do you have a Trust-wide obesity and weight management strategy? If so, how is this implemented (for example, through delivery of Tier 3 obesity services of the NHS Tiered Care Weight Management Pathway)?
  2. Details of staff training to deliver these strategies,
  3. Details of any current training for clinical staff in the area of weight discrimination, weight stigma, weight bias and/or obesity awareness,
  4. The number of complaints made to the Trust where weight discrimination, bias or stigma was mentioned in the period 1st January 2014 to 31st December 2023,
  5. Any planned or current actions in response to the Health and Social Care Committee report on ‘The Impact of Body Image of Mental and Physical Health’

It is important for your understanding of our response that you are advised that the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust is a small and specialist mental health Trust, and not a hospital.  We provide outpatient, and mainly psychological, services.  We do not provide acute services, nor inpatient patient services, and do not have an  A&E department.

Your request for information  about Obesity and weight management is not applicable to our Trust as we do not provide dedicated services to which this information would apply.

We do not diagnose Obesity and Weight Management problems, and do not have a dedicated service dealing with this, though we might work with these problems as part of an overall mental health presentation.
