GIDS Monthly Data 2010 To Mar24 Waiting List & Patients Open To The Service

I would like to request under the freedom of information act, on a monthly basis from 2010 until the service closed:

1. The number of patients who were waiting for treatment(“on the waitlist”) on the first of the month
2. The number of patients who were under the care of the GIDS on the first of the month

Please kindly note that the Trust has provided below data as it is held electronically, though some of it is incomplete for earlier periods, as explained below.

For 2010 data:

• We do not hold electronic appointments data most of 2010 and thus not able to determine active caseload.
• We do hold data on waiting list numbers for 2010, but we cannot guarantee confirm its accuracy or completeness as this was during the transfer from paper to digital records, and it would now appear that the full historical data was not transferred to electronic patient records.

Early Periods

Data for the earlier part of this dataset may be incomplete, but we no longer have access to the original paper records to track back and verify the data.

GIDS Closure March 2024

The GIDS service was decommissioned at the end of March 2024 and we consequently hold no data for the period April 2024 onwards

1. The number of patients who were waiting for treatment(“on the waitlist”) on the first of the month

The table below shows the number of GIDS patients on waiting list (open referral and awaiting 1^st appointment) on first day of the month

2. The number of patients who were under the care of the GIDS on the first of the month

The table below shows the number of GIDS patients who were under the care of GIDS on the first day of the month.

• These are open cases at the start of the month, who were seen at least once under referral.
• NB: Prior to November 2010 there were no electronic records for appointments.
