  1. Who is the head of procurement that is responsible for approving Nursing agency usage?

a. Secondly, who is the temporary / flexible staffing lead responsible for the management of this service

2. Please can you provide the contact number and email address in relation to both question 1 (a) and (b)

3. Can you please confirm the names of all OFF-Framework agencies currently supplying to your trust for the following staffing groups: Registered General Nurses (RGNs) & Registered Mental-health Nurses (RMNs), Accident & Emergency (A&E)/Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) Nurses, Prison nurses and Theatre Nurses

4. (b) Secondly, Can you please confirm the volume of supply, by number of shifts filled and & shift type, by each OFF-Framework agency during October 1st 2023 – February 29th 2024

5. How much was your OFF-Framework agency spend for each of the following staff groups between January 2024 – April 2024 (a) RGN’s (b) Chemotherapy Nurses (c) RMN (d) ITU Nurse  (e) A&E nurse (f) Prison Nurses (g) Theatre nurses (h) Neonatal nurses

Please kindly note that the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust is a small specialist mental health Trust, and not a hospital, we provide outpatient, and mainly psychological, services via talking therapies, on a day-clinic basis.

We do not provide acute services, nor inpatient patient services, and do not have an  A&E department

We only employ a small number of around 30 permanent nurses at any given point, and any agency hire of  temporary RGNs is restricted to the duration of a permanent vacancy. 

We do not operate any shift systems, and our agency nurses work to an hourly day rate basis, Mondays to Fridays.

HR are responsible for approving Nursing agency usage, and the person responsible for this approval is the Gem Davies, Chief People Officer. hr@tavi-port.nhs.uk

The hiring department is responsible for management of the agency nurse/s.
