  1. From September to November 2024 please confirm how many Nursing shifts were sent out to agencies to fill (per month), for Band 2, Band 3, Band 5 and Band 6 by discipline ( e.g. General, Critical, RMN, CPN etc)

Explanatory Note

Please note that the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust is a small specialist mental health Trust, and not a hospital. We provide outpatient, and mainly psychological services, via talking therapies, on a day clinic basis.

We do not employ RCNs HCA’s, RMN or Specialist RNs. We only occasionally use the services of agency nurses (RGN’s) to cover substantive post vacancies (we only employ around 20 nurses in total at any given point).

Our use of off-framework agency nurses is nil and this has been the case for some years.

We do not operate a shift system, and our agency nurses work days only on an hourly rate basis, Monday to Friday.

See above explanatory notes.   We have not hired any nurses on bands 2, 3, 5, 6.

For this period the Trust’s agency nurse hires were as follows:

  • one band 7 agency nurse for 20 days in September 2024
  • one band 7 agency nurse10 days in October 2024.
  • Nil agency nurses were hired in November 2024.
