The person or department who manages the supply chain of temporary staff for Allied Health and Healthcare Science Professionals (Pharmacy, Radiology, Cardiology, Biomedical Science/Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy) , Nursing (specialist and general, including HCAs) and Midwifery professionals.
  2. The email address and telephone number of the mentioned in point 1.
  3. A breakdown of the trust’s clinical agency spend within the last 24 months. including of the departments of spend
  4. The agency shifts cascaded out within the past 12 months for the Nursing and Midwifery and Allied health/Healthcare Science professions and

a. At what cost they was covered (NHSI or above)

b. Number of agency shifts required broken down across Allied Health, Healthcare Science and Nursing and Midwifery.

c. Was any off this off framework

Please note that The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust is a specialist mental health Trust, and not a hospital.  We provide outpatient, and mainly psychological, services.  We do not provide acute services, nor inpatient patient services, nor detention facilities, and do not have an A&E department.

 

  1. The person or department who manages the supply chain of temporary staff for Allied Health and Healthcare Science Professionals (Pharmacy, Radiology, Cardiology, Biomedical Science/Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy) , Nursing (specialist and general, including HCAs) and Midwifery professionals.

The management of agency staff supply is not a centralised activity at this Trust, the departments manage their own hiring of authorised temporary posts.

Financial year 2022-23 – £385,179

Financial year 2023-24 – £430,610

Please note that the Trust only employs a small number of around 30 permanent nurses at any given point, and only hires temporary nurses whilst a permanent vacancy exists.

Agency nurses worked in Gender Identity Clinic and Community & Integrated Services

Agency doctors were hired for supply to on-call services at local acute Trusts – not within our Trust.

The Trust does not operate a shift system, so agency staff work to an hourly day time rate only.
