- Please confirm your allocated budget for agency locum doctors for the period 1st August 2025 to 31st October 2025
Our budget is nil and spend is reimbursed to us.
We provide certain local acute hospitals’ mental health services with shift cover by our own resident doctors (previously known as junior doctors).
We would occasionally hire locum doctors from an agency, when there is a gap in the shift/s we are committed to fill at local acute Trusts but cannot otherwise do, for which we are reimbursed in full by the relevant local acute Trust.
As the net hire costs for these shifts are nil to our Trust, due to full reimbursement, as explained above, we do not have a set budget to spend on locum doctors and do not keep historic records of this spend.
You might find it helpful to note that the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust is not a hospital, it is a small specialist mental health Trust, which does not provide acute services, nor inpatient patient services, nor detention facilities, and does not have an A&E department.
