Staff Allowed to Work from Abroad

Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the following information:

  1. The number of staff employed by you working from outside of the UK. Please provide answers for full time, 6 months per year and other (if other please detail duration).
  2. What NHS banding are they and what is their role? I do not wish to have any personal information just details of their job title and pay band.
  3. What is your Policy or formal guidance on the subject? Please provide a copy.

Nil.  The Trust confirms that it does not employ any staff working from outside the UK.

  1. What NHS banding are they and what is their role? I do not wish to have any personal information just details of their job title and pay band.

Not applicable.  See our response to question 1 above

  1. What is your Policy or formal guidance on the subject? Please provide a copy.
    1. The current prohibition from working about relies on an internal all-staff communication, issued 3rd March 2021, and since evolved into a total ban to work from abroad under any circumstances.
    2. This position will be further clarified soon, once the Trust’s new Agile Working Policy is issued (currently it is at the drafting stage).
    3. The Trust states the following message on all job advertisements:

“It is a condition of this employment that you must live in and remain a resident of the United Kingdom during your employment with the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.”
