We are bringing our open art exhibition back this spring! Previous editions hosted in 2022 and 2017 attracted a high number of entries and visitors, and we can’t wait to celebrate all things creative at the Tavistock and Portman again.
The exhibition doesn’t follow any particular theme – it’s about inclusivity and engagement, and we are eager to collate as many different voices and forms of self-expression as possible. We welcome contributions from professional artists and amateurs alike who have a connection to the Trust: students, staff members, service users from the Tavistock and affiliated organisations, as well as local artists engaging with the themes of mental health.
Submission criteria
- Submission deadline: Friday, 22 March 2024
- All works to be handed in to the Tavistock Centre on Thursday 11th or Friday 12th April 2024 between 10am and 4pm. We regret that we are unable to cover the cost of delivery.
- Subject matter must be appropriate for public display and must not be obscene or portray or incite discrimination.
- Max. 3 works per submission. Works must not exceed 100 cm x 100 cm (40” x 40”)
- We regret that we are only able to accept wall-based 2D works.
- Works on paper or textiles must be framed behind glass. All framed works must have a string, a wire or a D-ring on the back, so that they are ready to hang on a hook.
- We will take care to look after your work, however, we do not hold responsibility for damage or theft of your work during storage, display or collection. Artists should arrange their own insurance if necessary.
- All works need to be collected on Tuesday 28th or Wednesday 29th May 2024
- All works on show will be available for sale, if you wish, with the gallery taking a commission of 15%. All sales will be handled through the gallery.
- The artists’ names and accompanying information will be clearly on display, unless the artist wishes to be anonymized.
