Developing a NHS framework for harmful sexual behaviours in children and young people
Working with children displaying harmful sexual behaviour (HSB) can be challenging for NHS staff, and NHS staff development may not form part of safeguarding boards’ HSB strategy
National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) had already developed
a Harmful Sexual Behaviour Framework, the project developed this framework to
be more inclusive of health staff and to develop a set of practical resources
to support health staff dealing with HSB issues.
A Harmful Sexual Behaviour Framework extended to be inclusive of healthcare staff to inform local planning and service development – more information as well as the framework can be found on the NSPCC website.
An online resource including practical advice and guidance
for healthcare staff.
