Child community and educational psychology (M4)

Tuesday 4th of November from 5.30-7.30pm

In addition to the open evening on Thursday 14th of October, the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust are hosting a complementary online event for people who are currently under-represented in Educational Psychology. All communities we serve should have access to Educational Psychologists who come from those communities; for this to be a reality, we need to take positive action to address some of the structural barriers to training.

This event is aimed at individuals interested in training to become an Educational Psychologist (EP) who are currently under-represented. This may include, but is not limited to, those who have faced individual and/or systems  challenges either currently or in the past: e.g., because of socio-economic inequity, discrimination on the basis of one or more protected characteristics (e.g., race, sex, disability, age, religion or belief, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, and sexual orientation), etc.

The event is an informal opportunity to hear from current students, alumni, tutors, fieldwork tutors and EPs employed by the Trust. They will share what their training experience in a working mental health trust has been like and their views on the role more generally. Ideally those attending will have also attended the open evening on Thursday 14th of October to get the most from the event.
