We are responsible for our Moodle virtual learning environment, which is used by course teams to support learning. This includes the integrated Turnitin solution, a plagiarism detection tool. All summative assignments are submitted online through Moodle and processed by Turnitin.
We also manage the Directorate's ZOOM video conferencing platform and the remote delivery of all teaching.
When located in the building, TEL maintain and support the Tavistock Clinic's four family therapy recording suites and manage the 140 plus encrypted hard drives used by trainees to hold their clinical recordings.
We are also responsible for all audio-visual equipment in the seminar rooms and offer lecture recording and live streaming from the fifth floor Lecture Theatre.
The Technology Enhanced Learning Unit (TEL) sits within the Directorate of Education and Training (DET) at the Tavistock Clinic.
TEL was created in July 2014. We work closely with faculty staff and other key stakeholders to introduce and embed the use of technology in learning and teaching.
The team hold a number of key skills, including specialisms in multimedia content creation and editing, learning design, Moodle administration, online assessment and feedback, video conferencing, lecture capture and audio-visual technologies. The TEL team were Highly Commended in the 2017 Learning Technology: Team of the Year Awards (Association for Learning Technology).
Currently we are fully remote and do not attend the Trust Clinic in NW3. You can contact the team on TELsupport@tavi-port.nhs.uk.
