Community photography exhibition at Dalston C.L.R. James Library

Event overview

Dalston CLR James Library, Dalston Square, London E8 3BQ

Dalston CLR Library
Welcome to this photography exhibition by the Tavistock and Portman's community photography groups.

The exhibition brings together pictures from a community photography project run within two Tavistock adult services – Team Around the Practice (TAP) in Camden and The Primary Care Psychotherapy Consultation Service (PCPCS) in Hackney.

The project has been running since 2014. Over the course of 12 weeks, group members are lent cameras and weekly themes are chosen as a starting point for members to take photos in their own time and bring back to the group to share and discuss.

The project is a celebration of how photography makes it possible to create images, harness the process of creativity and share the interest of promoting personal wellbeing.

This exhibition consists of a selection of photographs from the groups, some reflections from members about their pictures and the process of taking them.

All prints from the exhibition are available to sale.

The proceeds will be split between four charities chosen by the group members; St Mungo’s Mare Street Hostel, Core Arts, Mildmay, and Polycystic Kidney Disease charities.
