We have become the first NHS Trust to be registered with the Office for Students – the body that monitors Higher Education providers to ensure that all students succeed in higher education.

The OfS is the independent regulator of higher education in England and they work to ensure that every student, whatever their background, has a fulfilling experience of higher education that enriches their lives and careers. Their regulations cover all students whether undergraduate or postgraduate, national or international, young or mature, full-time or part-time, studying on a campus or by distance learning.

The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust's registration confirms that we provide well-designed courses that deliver a high-quality academic experience for all our students. We will always support students from admission through to completion and ensure that students’ outcomes are valued by employers or enable further study, and we award qualifications that hold their value over time.

Brian Rock, the Director of Education & Training and Dean of Postgraduate Studies said, “I am delighted at our success of being on the OfS Register of Providers and the fact that we are the first, and only, NHS Trust on the register is even more cause for celebration! Being included brings a number of key opportunities and benefits for our students, alumni and staff as it further cements recognition of the value and quality of our education provision in the Higher Education sector. It underpins our standing as a relevant, contemporary and professional educational institution and ensures that our students are supporting in their learning and development. It will also provide opportunities for us to more directly influence higher education policy and participate in the key issues in the sector that impact on our students and our own working lives.”
