Help your kids with growing up released
6 July 2017
Robert Winston’s Help your kids with growing up book was launched today (Thursday, July 6).
The title is aimed at supporting parents of adolescents, and includes several contributions from the Tavistock and Portman’s own Laverne Antrobus, Consultant Child and Educational Psychologist.
Laverne wrote about dealing with conflict, including parent-teen relationships, family upheaval, and peer pressure.
Laverne Antrobus is a consultant child and educational psychologist in our family mental health team. She is also a clinical supervisor on the professional doctorate in child and educational community psychology, working to train the next generation of psychologists.
The book covers contemporary issues such as internet safety, whilst also tackling key topics such as sexuality and body image. It offers a straight-forward, un-patronising approach to tricky topics, making it an invaluable book for tweens and teens alike.
