Free online summer school for budding tech entrepeneurs
8 July 2020
The Tavistock and Portman has been offered ten free places for young people across north London to take part in an online digital programme and ‘summer school’.
AI Accelerator will provide young people who are selected a unique opportunity to learn about artificial intelligence, data science and machine learning, and to engage with social and environmental problems. There will also be an opportunity to be mentored by some of the most experienced international digital and design minds.
Young people will be set a challenge to develop ideas and products that can support mental wellbeing. They will be working in teams over three weeks. They will have an opportunity to showcase their innovations to judges from top companies and to get their foot in the door of the tech world.
The participants will also supported by a team of north and central London clinicians who are also working on the development of a new children’s mental wellbeing website.
Dr Emilios Lemoniatis, Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Digital Innovation Lead, said:
“This is an exciting learning and networking opportunity over the summer for curious young minds. I would encourage young people across north London to apply. You may already be interested in science, technology or digital innovation or still figuring out what you’re interested in. This is an excellent opportunity to explore and to find out more”.
To make an application, young people aged 11-19 people can apply on the teensinai website. When applying please mention that you have been referred by the NHS. The deadline is 13 July.
