Are you interested in becoming a Governor of the Tavistock & Portman?

15 November 2021

Nominations are now open: our Board of Governors are seeking to fill vacant seats to represent Camden and the rest of England and Wales.

All Trust members in Camden and the rest of England and Wales (excluding London) can stand for the position of governor. Nominations are now open until Wednesday 1 December.

Governors are elected by fellow Trust members to represent local communities and influence the Trust’s work l for a three year term. The role involves challenging the Board of Directors and holding the Non-executive Directors to account. Governors attend regular meetings with the Council of Governors and the Board of Directors. They may also sit on internal committees.

George Wilkinson, Public Governor Rest of England & Wales and Lead Governor, said:

“As governors at the Tavistock, we are very much involved in and valued by the Trust. We make sure that our members’ voices are heard.. In doing this, we play a critical role in ensuring that the Trust remains publicly accountable for its services.

We come from a wide range of backgrounds, bringing very different skills, experiences and interests, but as governors we have a common purpose - to do what we can to ensure that the Tavistock thrives and prospers for the benefit of its patients, their families and their carers, and its people."

All Trust members can apply now via our Council of Governors election portal.
