Student and Camden Governor elections

On 1 March 2022 nominations will open for one Student Governor position and two Camden Governor positions at the Trust.

This is the first time the Trust has recruited for a Student Governor. You can find out more about the Governor role here.

Brian Rock, Director of Education & Training and Dean of Postgraduate Studies, said:

“It’s vital that the student voice is heard at the Council of Governors, and I’m excited about the potential to increase student involvement in the working of the Trust through this new role of Student Governor. We are particularly keen to receive nominations from students from under-represented backgrounds who are keen to assist us in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in every aspect of our work.”

Kathy Elliott, Lead Governor and Stakeholder Governor, as Vice-Chair of Voluntary Action Camden, said:

“The Tavistock and Portman has been delivering mental health services to communities in Camden for decades, so it’s vitally important that our Council of Governors includes people from these communities. We particularly encourage past and present service users, and people from under-represented backgrounds, to apply and take on this rewarding role.”

Individuals who wish to be nominated for these positions should apply between 1 March and 17 March 2022. To be eligible for nomination, students must be on a course of two or more years in duration, and be a current student or have been a student in the past three years. The elections will take place in April, with the final result being announced on Friday 29 April 2022.
