The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust serves a national population, it is not limited to a specific catchment area.

  1. How many staff are in the research department?

There are 12 staff in the research department.  Many of the staff are funded from external grants (see website for more details: Research and innovation – Tavistock and Portman )

  1. Please name the roles of the staff in the research department, including NHS grade (i.e. band 5, 6, 7, 8a, 8b, 8c, 8d, consultant) (including delivery staff, i.e. research nurses, research practitioners, research doctors, and research governance and management staff, including directors).

(Many of these posts are part time and fixed term)

Nil.  We are a small Trust that is supportive of research.

We have been successful in securing external grant income from a range of funders over recent years which has enabled the Trust to undertake a number of research studies with minimal specific funding from the Trust.

23/24 74,762.42

24/25 £47, 894 awarded so far for 1/4/24 to 30/9/24 due to change over to new RRDS system

The Trust does not apply an income target nor a savings target to R&

The Trust research office is a Joint Research Office (Noclor, see website for further details)
