Joanna Rosenthall

Consultant Social Worker in the Adult & Forensic Directorate; Couples Unit Lead.

Joanna Rosenthall is a psychoanalyst (BPA), a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist (BPF) and a Couple Psychotherapist (TR). She runs a clinical Couples Unit in the Adult Department and also leads a Training Programme accredited by the BPC – Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with Couples. She also works with couples and individuals in private practice.

She teaches and lectures both in Britain and abroad on the psychoanalytic theory and practice of working with couples. She has a special interest in how the couple relationships affects parenting. Recent papers of hers have focused on Bullying, Violent Couples and using the Transference in Couple Work.
